Introduction |
The Geotourism term can include geosciences multiples aspects, according to each region's potenciality. In many national or local parks, the main touristic attractions are geological or geomorphological aspects, like canyons, odd reliefs, sharp unlevellings with waterfalls or even river with rapids. Sites presenting fossils, archaelogical artifacts or paintings in caves are potential attractive points. Local or thematic museums generate visits and concentrate the local geological culture. A different version of this, already performed many years ago in some brazilian regions, is the so-called mineral tourism fed by collectors, museums and universities. |
